Product Description

Susan's story is one of pain and triumph. She went from a child with learning disabilities, to an adult with relentless passion. At the age of 47, she shocked the world with her beautiful voice, and became a contestant on the widely televised Britain's Got Talent. She exceeded everyone's expectations and went on to sell almost 4 million copies of her debut album ''I Dreamed a Dream,'' debuting as the number one best selling album on charts around the globe. Global interest in Boyle was triggered by the contrast between her powerful voice and her plain appearance on stage. The juxtaposition of the audience's first impression of her with the standing ovation she received during and after her performance led to an international media and internet response. Within nine days of the audition, videos of Boyle from the show, various interviews and her 1999 rendition of ''Cry Me a River'' had been watched over 100 million times. This is the story of how a shy loner from Blackburn, Scotland went from ''Pain To Fame.''

TOTAL RIP OFF!1
This was a very very big let down, after much anticipation.
I am a HUGE Susan Boyle fan (even sent her flowers on Valentines Day!) but this DVD is just a hash of news items from various T.V. Stations & youtube clips, badly put together, with naff autocue narration, that sounded as though it was recorded in a cave!

Simon Cowell COULDN'T have been involved in ANY WAY WHATSOEVER with this DVD (it would have been much better if he had been!) & if he was (which I doubt) then he has lost the plot!! (Come on Simon produce something better for us!!)

The editing was terrible, & it did not bring us at all up to date with Susan's amazing journey. How lovely it would have been to see & hear her sing with the fantastic orchestra in Japan (which although I have seen on youtube, would have been great on this DVD!) In fact we didn't hear her sing anything for more than a few seconds, this DVD is TOTAL TRASH! I really don't think that anyone connected with Susan (Family, Friends, Management & indeed even Susan herself) would be pleased with this terrible terrible DVD. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!!

The below is being added today 15th July:

I returned the DVD to Amazon, they even paid the return postage, & they are crediting back the payment to my card. Nothing but praise for Amazon, but shame on the producers of the DVD!

Extremely bad DVD1
Today I received the Susan Boyle - From Pain To Fame DVD and I am at a loss to adequately describe my disappointment. I have never before watched such a badly presented DVD the first few minutes of which made me think that I had received the wrong one, what on earth was the point of such a long introduction showing what looked like a stately home, as for the music, words fail me!
When we did get to Susan Boyle, whom I greatly admire, we were shown snippits of various interviews, mostly American, which have been aired on TV many times. As for the contributions from one man, a women and a female singer, not only were they superfluous but hardly audible above the extraneous background noises, one person actually looked as though she was sitting in front of large dirty windows, and again the sound quality was poor.
My biggest complaint is that we did not hear even one song performed by Susan. Overall, I was obliged to give a one star rating to this DVD, although it does not deserve it, and would strongly advise people to save their money, I wish I had, because I just do not understand its purpose.

susan boyle- from pain to fame2
One word -disappointing,I was very much looking forward to receiving this dvd, after pre-ordering it, and as another reviewer pointed out, I wasn't sure either that I had got the right dvd, for the first two and half minutes going around
the presumably, scottish countryside and around stately homes, the sound in much of it was very bad, so much so I was hoping it was sub-titled, just so I could turn the sound off!! it wasn't, I'm just glad I didn't have to pay the
rrp of 15.99, but still a waste of money at 9.99.
